Alpha Verum

Full Name: Alpha Verum

Age: 16, born on the 26th of september

Description or Playby: Alpha has brown eyes, a lot of red curly hair, white skin and she usually wears her camp shirt with ripped off pants. She has a three lined scar (claw marks) running down the middle of her face trough her right cheek, ending under her chin. She got this when she first met Beta. She likes bare feet but if she cannot do that she wears flip-flops, she also wears purple gloves with cut off fingers and a piece of string wrapped around her arm attached to them. Alpha also owns an automaton, a wolf pup named Beta about the size of what you’d expect a wolf pup to be sized like. Beta is with her wherever she goes, he is more a close friend than a regular automaton pet to Alpha. She named it Beta because if she is “the” alpha, Beta must be... Beta, that’s all the explaining she does on his name.

Personality: She is a friendly girl who loves to do archery and to walk in the forest, looking at all the little things around her. She is straight forward, this because of her mother being the Goddess of truth she can’t say anything that is not the truth. She can also tell if people speak the truth if she focuses, though if she knows some-one isn’t speaking the truth she can’t know what the truth is. And only if she focuses so, about that, that is hardly ever because she has ADHD and that makes her super hyperactive. She is quite flirty if she likes a girl, again she cannot lie about liking somebody can she? Most people think she doesn’t sit still at all and that she bounces around instead of walking around. They describe her as the ball of curly red hair running/bouncing around camp. She likes to help people with their problems and questions. Her fatal flaw is trust, even though she can tell when you don’t speak the truth, she trusts some-one almost instantly and that it hard to be undone. This way she can be fooled into thinking you are a nice guy when instead you are a bad guy. Alpha is really impulsive,never really takes any time to think about what she is about to do or say. If people ask for her opinion on something she cannot say anything else than the exact thing on her mind, this can come across as really rude. If she doesn't like your e.g drawing she'll say that it's ugly straight in your face. She also has a thing for holding grudges.

History: Alpha was raised in an orphanage, she never knew her dad, neither did the orphanage because Alpha was left on the streets with a note that said “Alpha Verum”. She never believed her dad was dead and knew this deep down too. (More back story in 'The adventure to the lower country of rain' at the homes board)

Alpha had had an interest for mythology ever since she was a kid, she read stories and learned Gods and Goddesses, this is also how she found the meaning of her name. Alpha, the first letter of the Greek alphabet, in her case it means first more than it means “A”, and verum, the Latin word for truth. Her name means first truth, which applied perfectly as the only thing she can say is the first truth, nothing but that, she found this out when she was supposed to sleep so she was kind of sleep drunk, very poetic and a deep going person.

When she turned twelve she ran away from the orphanage because some of her “friends” had told everybody about her and her most secretive secrets. All the other children bullied her and the worst was that her favorite person there had left. Alpha had been planning to leave for about a year on that moment and she decided that the time to do so had come. She left at night, a full moon night, it is something she will always remember. She fled into the woods nearby and heard a wolf howl, she heard this one more often, it had a strange metallic noise to its howling. She ended up bumping into the wolf, on his turn it attacked her face, leaving a scar. Alpha had calmed down the wolf, the automaton who she named Beta. They became close friends. Together they survived a month until they ended up at camp. Alpha had nothing chasing her to camp because nobody even knew she was a half-blood, that was until she passed the gates. Alpha found out why she couldn’t lie when Aletheia showed her her sign in a dream, later on it appeared above Alpha her head.

Story of her dad; Her dad met Aletheia in a library, he was doing research for his job, using ancient techniques for a change. Alpha her dad worked for the police, his job was mostly researching and building improvements around lie-detector subjects. Aletheia showed interest in his job and taught him some tricks about truth and how one acts when it's not the thing that is spoken. The two started to meet more often and ended up in getting Alpha as a daughter. Aletheia told Alpha her dad about the truth of Gods and Goddesses, at first he didn't believe her, but when a friend of his, a son of Apollo had a dream concerning their child he started to believe in the Greek Gods and Goddesses, he had to leave Alpha in order to prevent something from happening to her.
